Travel Info could you please tell me what the laws state in Spain including minimum age to purchase alcohol and drink alcohol in establishments?? Travel Tips oh very easy this is stated in all super markets. for drinks that are less than 18 percent alcohol, you can purchase them at 16. if its more than 18 percent, you need to be 18. And no one ever IDs you, of course unless you look like youre 12. Others I think it's legally 18, but you can drink there from the age of 15-16 or so. I drank there when I was 16 with no problem, and there was a 14 year old kid in our group who was served in a bar as well. it's 18 i was there this spring break. Oh and if you go to little corner stores and not very big like grocery stores. They most probably won't ask for id. Hope this helps. And if you go to Gibraltar which is a very small peninsula in southern spain that's next to Malaga in spain, the age is 16. (It's british territory) The place is beautiful!
