There is a festival held in Obuda, which is a historical part of Budapest. There are concerts of all kinds (classical, jazz, chamber, dixie, etc), exhibitions, theatrical nights. If you're interested in popular music, there will be the 'Sziget' (The Island in English) festival on 1-8 August. Since Hungary is not so big, it's worth to travel to other parts of the country, because there is a huge abundance of programs throughout the countryside. Have a nice trip!
