How to get from Prague airport to....? |
Travel Info Tyl Hotel, Tylovo Namisti 5/668 Praha 2. Is it easy to get the train, metro, bus or get a taxi and how much for each please? Travel Tips Cheapest way into the centre of Prague is to buy a travel pass (costs very little - public transport in prague is ridiculously cheap - about 70p for the whole day) - there is a desk in the airport arrivals hall to do this. A bus will take you from the airport and you can get off at the stop which serves the end of the line of the Metro (I think it is the Dejvicka stop at the end of the green line). In order to get where you need to be you can either stay on that line to Miru and walk back across Namesti Miru and up Jugoslavska, or change at the Muzeum stop to I.P. Pavlova , and walk down Namesti Pavlova (this is a shorter walk). If you are a music fan, try and see Jamie Marshall one night... an excellent live performer, check our his website at www.jamiemarshall.com for when/where he is playing.... Others We got the train to the centre and then a tram to our hotel - you need to find out which tram stop is nearest to your hotel and then it is really easy to work out from the maps and line plans provided - as easy as working out how to get around on the Tube for example. And Prague isn't that big so you're not likely to get lost. Trams are stupidly cheap, from what I remember it was like 20p or something for a single ticket, and we found them really easy and reliable to use. The only time we tried to get a taxi the guy totally tried to rip us off - although they might have a system at the airport to stop that happening. But if you want to save some money and get a feel for Prague, definitely go for the public transport. Edit: Oh, and apparently your hotel is 50m from I.P. Pavlova tram stop, so should be easy. http://www.tripadvisor.com/hotel_review-... don't take a cab in Prague!!! BIG TIME rip off!!!!! and it takes a long time because of traffic! Believe me I live in Czech! take bus from the airport and then change for another one or take the metro or tram I agree with Boogie taxi's are very expensive and its quite a way from the airport into the town centre check with your hotel website for details and use the train/bus their used to Europeans moving around their city |
