How is racial/religious tolerance in Bosnia? |
Travel Info My bf is from Bosnia and I am a multi-ethnic American. He wants to go to his country and I'd love to go with him but I'm ignorant as to how race relations work overseas. I just don't want to get my feelings hurt. :) Thanks for your answers!! Travel Tips One of the magical things about Bosnia is that it has always been multi ethnic and tollerant. In Bosnia you will find many foreigners. Asian, African, North American, South American and on and on. The Bosnians are not prejudiced like we Americans are. So dont wory. They will accept you there and offer some of the best hospitality I have ever seen. Have fun. Others Bosnia is a mixture of Muslims,Orthodox Christians and atheists. Most of the Muslims are not that strict and most women do not wear headscarves. I don't think you will have any problems in Bosnia, and also i think the U.S did step in to help the Muslims in the Balkans during the genocide, so i don't think you will have many problems. Well I know some Bosnians, they all look different and are all different religions and everything, so it is only understandable to think that Bosnians are pretty tolerant.. but there could be some issues..
