What store sells Foreign Adapter Plugs for Continental Europe? |
Travel Info I need to be able to plug in a cord from the US into an outlet in Europe. I don't need a converter, just the adapter. They're about $3 and I need a store to buy them at. I tried Radio Shack and they don't have them in store. Travel Tips You can get like a 10-in-1 country plug adapter at WalMart (about $10). To clarify, all you really need is something to fit US plugs to European plugs, right? (UK plug shape is different, by the way). If what you're going to plug in will take 220V input, then all you'll need is a plug adapter. If your appliance only takes 110V input thereabouts, then it will get fried in Europe! Just a heads-up if you haven't considered this. Assuming voltage is not an issue for you, then you can order from a shop like Eagle Creek. Here's one: http://www.eaglecreek.com/accessories/co... And ungrounded: http://www.eaglecreek.com/accessories/co... ... which should be all you need (if voltage is not an issue). Others Try a travel agent or a luggage store. Luggage stores tend to carry all sorts of things you might need if travelling overseas, so they're probably your best bet. My local travel agent also carries a line of products like sleep masks, adaptors, converters etc. Specialty luggage stores (such as the Samsonite or American Tourister stores) always have the entire set, but I bought mine at good ole Wal-Mart. In some countries, I've had to buy the extra piece for my adapter (power unit) to fit whatever plug is there (but the hotel sometimes has that piece), especially for Americans. |
