German to English translation please.? |
Travel Info What does "AUF REISEN NICHT RASEN" mean in English? Seen on the back of a camper van in Scotland. Travel Tips ON JOURNEYS NOT LAWNS Others Not sure, I haven't done German for a few years, I think it must be a play on their words or something... to rise/get up not mow?!!!! That's crazy! It means "On journeys not lawns". Haha. Sottland people are funny. Yeah. Reisen = travelling Rasen = speeding, driving very fast "rasen" is a verb not a noun in this case, a bit colloquial language but very often used So it's: Don't go fast while travelling. The meaning is: Take your time when travelling by car, enjoy your journey. native speaker |
