Any ideas where the 5 digit zip goes on a pkg to Ukraine? |
Travel Info I am attempting to mail a pkg to the Ukraine. The addres that I have has a five digit zip included but the post office tells me that if I send it with those numbers on it and in the format that is used here in the United States it will end up in California. Perhaps I should leave off these numbers or place them some where else? Please help there is a 12 year old little girl in an orphanage that is waiting. Travel Tips i would think the post office SSHOULD have an idea, can u email or send a letter to where u got the address to begin with and ask for the correct way to address it. or maybe try like a childrens network website. they SHOULD be able to help as they do the same sort of thing! i hope u figure it out! best of luck to u! Others If you are unsure, but know that all the other address details that you have - street (with number) & city or town - are correct, then I would leave the 'zip code' off, so that there is no risk of anyone thinking that it needs to go to somewhere in the US. You could also try making it absolutely clear, on the parcel, by writing Ukraine in big capital letters and perhaps adding Central Asia below that. The five digit zip in Ukraine is called index. You must write it down near the name of city. Like for example: Kiev- 10100. But it will come to girl even without this number if you write correct adress and town. When I send mail to a friend in Europe the address is designated: Name of Recipient postal code and city name street Address country name This always gets the mail to him. |
