I'm traveling to Croatia for 10 days. Where are the best places to visit? |

Travel Tips You should go to: Dubrovnik, Zadar - for monuments(or anywhere else, the coast has been continually inhabited since the 7th century) Split, Novalja on Pag - for parties Mljet, Kornati, Brijuni - for the nature(national parks) Varazdin in the north - for the peace and quiet plus history or some small town in central Istria if you want noone to disturb you-you would be in the middle of nowhere. You should Google 篓Croatia篓 and see what comes up. Have a nice time! Others Stick to the coast line and the islands and you won't regret it. Pula, Opatija, Zadar, Split, Dubrovnik - Vis, Korcula - I can't rave enougn about Croatia. Definitely stick to the coast and see Dubrovnik (stay in Old Town). You can rent a villa pretty cheap. It is all foot traffic, no cars or buses inside the walls. You could spend 3 days there and don't leave without doing the wall! It's a walk along the wall of the city with unbelievable views. You can get a bus outside the walls of Old Town Dubrovnik to the harbor (about 10 minutes) and take the ferry from there to Korcula. I stayed in a 2 br/2 bath apartment for $88/night split 3 ways! There are also other islands along the way but you definitely want to go to Hvar. There is a ferry that runs from Korcula to Hvar early am. It is magnificent! Stay in Hvar Town. And if you go to Hvar, go to Carpe Diem, one of the BEST bars (right on the water) in Europe! One more thing - the pizza in Croatia is outstanding. Coming from a New Yorker, that is saying a lot. You will love it and it is so much cheaper than so many European destinations right now. They are not on the Euro, fyi. From Hvar you can get the ferry to Split but I didn't care for Split and was glad I didn't stay there. I only went through Split to get the train to Zagreb Airport. Wish I was going back..... |
