Travel Tips
1. Best food in the world. Try involtini di melanzane, pizza, spaghetti marinara, pasta of any kind, melanzane alla parmigiana, risotto marinara, pesce spada alla griglia. In Syracuse, go to the restaurant Pescamare if you can find it!
2. Great monuments: go to the Norman-Byzantine churches in Palermo (la Martorana, San Cataldo, Monreale). Visit the ancient Greek archaeological sites in Agrigento and Selinonte, and thetemple at Segesta. Also the magnificent theatre at Taormina, with a spectacular view of the volcano Etna. Don't miss the catacombs at Syracuse and the old quary (called Dionyssos's ear).also the ancient Greek temple of Athena in Syracuse, transformed into a church.
3. Nice towns: Syracuse, Agrigento, Taormina, Ragusa, Noto, Erice.
You will have a great time if you go to Sicily!
