A whole city built on top of water?

I heard somewhere that there's a whole city somewhere in Europe built on water...like some kinda floating city or something...and then...when I think about it...watching Ocean's 12...and the group of people lifted a house in some place in Europe to break into it to get something valuable. ...anyways...if there's such thing....what's the city called? how'd they build it?

Venice Italy... It was built on solid ground, but they had a major flood a while back, the water hasn't left the city.. supposedly its "sinking"

I dont think there is such a thing, how can a huge building stay afloat?I mean foundation wise,it wud just topple over i tink.Only place the closest to water is Venice , Italy but thats it.Hope it helps.Plus, dont always believe wot u see on tv..LoL..U might be able to built one when ure in the bathtub tho...LoL..
