What are 5 European cities that I should visit? |
Travel Info It is my very first time to visit Europe and I have a hard time choosing the 5 cities that I would like to visit for my European tour. Can you give me suggestions and advice? thanks and 10 points for interesting 5 cities with reasons why I should visit them. Travel Tips London - lots to see, lots of history (London eye, Westminster abbey, parliment buildings and big ben, tower of London,) plus lots of places to shop , the national gallery (free!), buckingham palace.....(don't go to madam tussands...waste of money) Paris - is truly beautiful. ornate and gold adorned statues and buildings. See Notre Dame, the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Arc de triumph. You can also see picasso and Rodin museums if you like that. I went to Versailles on a half day trip...worth it.... Prague...another stunning city. Its friendly, small so you can easily walk around. THe arcitecture (to me at least) is more russianesque (pointed, odd shaped steeples etc). Places to see are Prague castle (the tickey gets you into places like Golden lane (cute little buildings), an old monistary, the old palace room (with great views over the city..lots of red rooves). Also the town square is cool with the zodiac clock and charles bridge is neat. Its cheaper than the other as well. Lots of people like Amsterdam, although I was a bit disappointed...but I'm not into smoking pot etc, the red light district was eye opening and i like Anne Franks house. I spent about 20mins at the Van gogh museum (but I know little about art) and the canals were quite neat. Rome is also something to see. Lots of Roman and renassiance stuff like the colloseum, roman ruins, trevi fountain, the pantheon, the vatican (with sistine chapel...i missed it as it was shut over easter!) the spanish steps (these were under renovations and had no flowers when I saw them) or you could see Florence (LOTS of people) with a more renaissance feel, lovely buildings (yellows, oranges etc with painted detail), the amazing cathedral..that I forgot the name of). See "David" or the other main museum with amazing art in it. I personally like parts of Croatia...for something different. Its cheaper too. Dubrovnik is lovely on the coast, with the old part of the city is really neat. You wouldn't need to spend much time here as its smaller (ie 1-2 days), but its a different feel (more mediterranean) and the coastline and scenery is so different. Hope it helps Others Paris, Berlin, London, Brussel, and Amsterdam will be my choice Amsterdam, Brussels, Luxemburg, Paris, Munich....these are my favorites. You can also try...Hamburg, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki. Or...Lisbon, Barcelona, Andorra, Milan, San Marino Europe is beautiful and each city has its own charm. Whichever 5 cities you visit, you'll love it. frequent traveler london ,paris, amsterdam, brussels I'd say Amsterdam and Rome, definitely. Paris is up there, I liked London but it should compete with Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen, Venice, and Barcelona for the final 2 spots. A: London Paris Amsterdam Berlin Rome B: Venice Ljubljana Dubrovnik Athens Istanbul C: Copenhagen Stockholm Helsinki St.Petersbourg Moscow D: Lisbon Seville Madrid Barcelona Nice E: Zurich Vienna Budapest Prague Warsaw But, if you drive a car or ride on a train, you can make stops all along the way.So many fantastic places to visit in Europe! |
