Do you think the British passport fees are too high? |
Travel Info Compared with some other countries in Europe they are extortionate. I live in Spain, had mine stolen recently, the British Embassy wants 86鈧?to issue an emergency one because I'm due to fly to the UK on 25th April, fine. But then, they are asking another 185鈧?for a new passport. I refuse to pay twice (I'm not that desperate to fly on 25th) but even so the British Government have got us all over a barrel, they should fall in line with the rest of Europe Travel Tips ive just had to pay 拢66 just for a renewal. it wouldnt be so bad if the country was worth staying in during summer. theyre punishing us for wanting to see the world! thank you, new labour. Others Yes,i have some years left on mine,but have to pay for a new one after getting married! Totally agree. I need to change my name on mine as I still have it in my maiden name but 拢66 is a total p*ss take! Nothing to compare it with, what do other countries charge? yeah, they need to sort it out in britain In Norway the price is 990 Norweigen Kronor, 121鈧? or 82.5拢. Yep high price in the UK . If you read the blurb sent out by the UK embassy it states that the price reflects the true cost ,and issuing passports should not be a burden on the taxpayer. some reasoning is expected,the passport is accepted valid document,you are expected to take care of,every one should be glad to hold the British passport, I don't consider it a expense,it give's the travler certain rights when abroad |
