La Rochelle - what to do there? |
Travel Info Going there in August and want to know what I can do there. I'm interested in fun activities like watersports and theme parks etc? I'm 17 and need decent public transport links to the places. Travel Tips There isn't much to do in the town itself. It is very expensive there. There should be activity bases there though that take place in the countryside like biking and horseriding. Watersports won't be far away especially sailing. Maybe go overnight to Les Sables d'Olonne which is great for windsurfing, waterskiing etc. Others I was only there for a short time many years ago (1989), but here is the English version of the city's official website. I suggest that you take the time to visit the Charente Maritime region as well which is very nice. Perhaps you will have the time to visit L'卯le de R茅 or 卯le d'Ol茅ron. You can get boats from La Rochelle. The beachs are big and sandy on the islands. If you stay a while on the islands it would be better if someone can rent a car. They're big islands.
