I have a friend from china who wishes to travel to france for a few days in august.?

does anyone know if a visa is required and if so how can it be obtained. we are travelling there via the eurostar in london

Your friend will definitely require a visa, unless their passport is from SAR China. If your friend already has a valid Schengen Visa, he/she does not need to obtain another one.
