What should I do while on holidays in Ceret, France?

If you know Ceret and the surrounding area, please suggest things to do. I will travel with wife and two kids, and we're looking to do more than shopping and cafe life. Are there any particular places we should visit, where can we go hiking and does anyone know where we can rent some offroad bikes?
