Cooking in france.?

Travel Info
I'm interested in getting out of the united states for a few months if possible for a few months in october or so, as a young chef I'm really interested in learning in france, has anyone done this? What visas do I need and who do I contact to apply for them? Is it possible to get paid decently enough to live off the money I'm making while I'm there, what regions of france are good for this sort of thing at this time of year?

Travel Tips
It's a long, paper work process for an American to work in France. First, you need to find someone willing to hire you and fill out the necessary paperwork of hiring someone who isn't a citizen of a European country. If the restaurant owner is willing to fill out the form, then you are going to have to fill out forms in the United States. Once both forms have been approved, you would be given a temporary card to work. So first, you need to find someone in France willing to hire you.

The Dordogne region is the most famous region in France for excellent cuisine. It鈥檚 in the southwest of France.

As a beginner, you could make just enough to get by.
