How are interracial relationships considered in Germany? |
Travel Info Will it be easy for a person of Indian origin to find a German girlfriend, while living/working in Germany? What is your country's view on intermixing of cultures? Travel Tips Depends on where that person lives and how conservative the parents and friends are.First rule of thumb : Big cities are better than small villages.Second rule : West and north are more tolerant than east and south.Catholics (south) are generally more conservative than protestants (north). Others It worked for Seal and Heidi Klum!! :) Let's not even get started on the US - we can't seem to get with someone trying somethin new! I have skipped off to the OC! my spouse is from India, and we never had any problem, not in Germany, but in the US, yes... and we have the most beautiful children in the world...boy and a girl....we get so many nice compliments from ppl on the street... Based on my experience living in Europe, interracial relationships are more accepted there than in the USA. Well, I have been an exchange student in Berlin now for 7 months, and I have definitely noticed a large difference in the acceptability of interracial relationships. It is quite not uncommon to see a couple made up of different races. I know that Berlin is a large and diverse city, so the way of life here is much different than in the south of Germany. When I traveled to the southern German states, I primarily saw same-race relationships, and the way of life there was much more conservative. So to wrap up this answer, I believe that if you are planning on moving or living in a larger city, then you should not have a problem finding a girlfriend because of your origin. I have lived in Berlin for 7 months |
