Is Germany Anti-semitic? |
Travel Info I'm thinking about travelling to Germany over summer, but my family is a little skeptical about me going there. I'm wondering if Germany is a safe place to travel to if you're not a "majority" person (Black, Asian, Jewish - I know there's much skepticism attached to Jews in Germany, etc). Travel Tips May I remind you that GERMANY again has the largest Jewish community in Europe??? Synagogues are available in many towns and today, Germany is not the same country that it was in the 1930s and 40s. Come over and see for yourself. In my house there are black, Asian and even two Jewish families living here without any problems at all. It seems that you have no real idea about today's Germany, don't you???? German universities has students from around the world, even from Israel and the U.S. or from Central Africa, Asia, Latin America. Myself, I have co-workers from different parts of the world - without any problems, neither. In my view, you have much more racism (and antisemtism) in the U.S. and also in the UK as in Germany today... And to "Beth": we are not anti-American, but we are anti-war and anti-Bush - but, some people in America doesn't understand this!!!! And I am glad (and proud) that Germany said "No!" to the Iraq war - and that we don't believe in Bush (for me, Bush is the new Hitler!!!!). There should be no problem going to visit, just don't let them know if you're american (everyone hates us). Let them think you're from Canada.... If you're indeed from Canada, awesome, you've got an advantage. JS, I have been to Germany 3 times in 3 years, I would recommend every one take a holiday there, its friendly, has great history. No one bothers you, after all, the war was years ago, and it was not mainstream Germans who wanted the war. been there where in the world are you man.....just go you will love it and stop living inside your fears... Germany is very cosmopolitan no, don麓t worry |
