Would buying violinstrings (that are made in Germany) be cheaper there than the US?

Travel Info
If so, does anyone know of any shop in Hamburg which would sell Strings and rosin?

Travel Tips
If I were to guess, no. The sales tax in Germany is 19%. If it is massively massed produced in Germany, but rarely imported (Cuckoo clocks, Beer Steins) or expensive to import (like wine and beer) then it is possibly cheaper here in Germany.

Try finding a violin store on-line from Germany. When you find it, go to Google, click on Language tools and put the link in the translate web page. Maneuver to a price. I do that often here.
