Has anybody lived or been to Mannheim, Germany ? |
Travel Info i am goin to mannheim from 30.6.2007 to 29.7.2007 so i want to know where i can get shopping and what are the cool clubs and pubs there ? Travel Tips I used to live about 30 minutes from Mannheim. Mannheim has a great downtown area with lots of shopping, cafes, bistros etc. There are lots of festivals in the area, too. You can go to http://wikitravel.org/en/mannheim,... they have lots of great info listed with links and tips. Also, pretty much everybody in Germany speaks English and it is very easy to meet people locally who can either show you around or give tips on the happening places. Especially when you are out shopping and go cafes or bistros, just ask, everybody will be happy to fill you in on the cool stuff. Others Mannheim is ok and thankfully not too far away from Frankfurt/Main. You should visit Frankfurt. Lots to see - it's nickname is Mainhattan due to its skyscrapers. Here's a website on Mannheim. Enjoy your stay! http://www.mannheim.de/ Yes, it's bollocks. You have time to check half of Germany. be sure to check Heidelburg for clubs & pubs ask a cab driver they know what going on .Frankfurt Sachsen Hausen is a must if you are looking for Pubs its like Disneyland with pubs one after another . Three words for you, IKEA, IKEA, IKEA.... Its the largest in Europe, took me about 5 hours to see all the floors, great buys there, cheap buffet with great german food. No really, I have to tell you, your best places to visit are CASTLES. There are a lot around that area Heidelberg, Frankensteins Castle, visit castles. They are the best. Heidelberg is a great place to visit in the morning and afternoon. I don't know Mannheim much, but the German teenagers in Heidelberg would rather party in Mannheim, so they say. There is a lot of good shopping in Mannheim, there is a mall, and the main street. |
