Travel Tips
Buy a Porsche, they is nothing like picking up that brand new Porsche and testing it out on the AutoBahn. Or a Mercedes, they even have specials tours and a couple of overnite stays in a castle arranged. They'll even program the routes into the navi for you.
SInce you can not take bake Beer anymore take back a Porsche.

we also have great chocolate and sweets...cukoo clocks are a nice souvenier but in Germany no one really has one...
Beer Steins
German chocolate is also good...my friends and relatives love it! Forget the cuckoo clocks..try t-shirts or shotglasses or golf balls from the places you visit.
Everything is expensive here. But you may find good deals at the open bazaars if your around any while your here. We don't drink alcohol, but Beer Steins are kinda neat. Plus there are nice figurines in the gift shops that are great gifts like "smokers" wooden figures that smoke incense (they come in many different characters like bakers, doctors, clowns, etc....) and "Hummel figurines"
Beer steins are usually good souvenirs. The Black Forest cuckoo clocks are not inexpensive, so cross those off your list. The chocolate here is some of the best in the world. Blows away American chocolate! Wine also is very good here and inexpensive. I've never tasted anything from America that could beat a European wine.
Hi,
are you going to Walluf close to Mainz and Wiesbaden? If yes and if you can get a car just follow the B42 road all the way to Ruedesheim. Its about 15min from Walluf. As this is one of the most popular tourist cities in the area with plenty of american, japanese and chinese tourists, there is a plethora of souvenir stores with lots of different things to choose from. They do have the clocks too... ;-)

Also its a famous wine region so a nice bottle of wine could be a good present. Msg me if you need more advice re. that area.

Cheers and enjoy your trip.
