Can i buy a pre-prepaid cell phone in germany? |
Travel Info I will be living in germany (heidelberg) for 4 months to study, and i want to buy a cheap cell phone to use while there, can they be bought or rented there inexpensively? Travel Tips Yes you can, just get a very basic model at Saturn or Mediamarkt or a similar store. Then there are several pre-paid offers to chose from. Also, just so you know: There's a website called peterzahlt.de through which you can make regular (ie not cell phone) calls between Germany and the US at certain times of the day. You don't have to be tec-savvy, don't have to register - I used it for several months until the friend I was staying in touch with returned to Germany from the US. Others I remember coming across them in Saturn some time back. Forget about renting. Cellphones are just as cheap these days :-) |
