Where is a good place to experience culture or somewhere memorable in Weimar, Germany?

Travel Info
I am looking for something to do during a weekend and as I have already found some night life, I am looking for something to do during the day.

Travel Tips
Weimar is a beautiful city and has great historical sights. There are also several World Heritage sites in Weimar.

The central business area of Weimar has lots of interesting shops and restaurants. I have always enjoyed the time I spent there.

Also be sure to visit the Bauhaus Museum...this is an important architectural style centered on Weimar, and will be very interesting if you are a fan of architecture.

Buchenwald was a concentration camp from the Nazi times that is near to the city. It is definitely an important site to visit. It is quite emotional, but a must-see when visiting Weimar.

Further afield is the city of Erfurt, about 20-30 minutes away. Erfurt has great medieval center, and the cathedral is spectacular.

I have included a link for the city of Weimar, where you can find a lot of tourism information.

Other Travel Tips
The Weimar republic was nothing to be proud of.
Well, you can visit the Bauhaus-Museum, a museum about the architectonical and artistic style of Bauhaus - very intersting

There's also the Goethe-Wohnhaus, the living house of Goethe, maybe the most famous German poet - he lived in Weimar for many years, he had a very intersting life, and to me it was very well done

At the tourist information, there you can rent an audio-guide to make your own guided tour through Weimar

Here ist the website of Weimar in English, maybe you find something interesting ;-) http://www.weimar.de/nc/en/tourism/homep...
Not sure whether you are interested in history, but you could also visit the former concentration camp in nearby Buchenwald. I went there when I was in high school and it is very interesting, scary and awful but also important to know about.
