Visit manali?

Hi all. i am planning to visit manali next week with my husband and my little daughter. we are planning to hire a taxi once we reach manali, for sight seeing to rohtang, solang valley, manikaran, kullu and other sites. Can any body tell me abot the fares for such service in manali.

In manali the taxi union is very strong and the rate fixed by them are non barganable.... at mall road you will find office of taxi union or u can simply ask your hotel wala to call a taxi wala for you.

for rohtang you can get taxi for Rs 1000 approx (if you want you can share it with some other couple.... that too taxi wala will arrange)

for local sight seing for Rs300-400 you can get taxi for all sight seeing... i will suggest you do littele home work befor you hit road as he will take u to all small tamples.... and then you will feel boaring...so better select some by visiting some good site on web and select them... my recomondation...Hidimba tample...vashishtha rishi tample... Bodha tample...

solang valy : take one side auto or taxi...over there spend good time on horse riding and a shiv mandir... take a cab again back... if u are short of time u can club it with rohtang day.

manikaran will take one whle day.to and fro taxi.

kullu : visit only if you want to purchase shawls ,,,,else no use.... yes river rafting is also avalable...but with small kid...avoid it..

and yes: there is no hidden cameras in hotels... but still no harm in cheking once you get there.

Manali town can be covered on foot, but for longer excursions and travel out of town, tourist buses and private taxis are available for hire. The Taxi Operators鈥?Union (Ph: 01901 鈥?52205, 52450) has a counter near the Tourist office. Charges in peak season are about Rs. 1000 for a full day trip around Manali. Motorcycles are available on hire at the Enfield Club (Ph: 01901 鈥?54090) on Vashisht Road. Himachal Tourism (Ph: 01901 鈥?53531) runs regular bus tours to destinations around Manali.
I DONT KNOW ABOUT TAXIES BUT BEWARE ABOUT THE HIDDEN CAMERAS IN HOTELS... SOME HOTELS HAVE HIDDEN VIDEO CAMERAS IN ROOMS AND IN BATHROOMS....
