Hi, can someone please tell me if 230V/50hz electric appliance would work in India?

Travel Info
I recently bought a European Chi Iron(comes with a European plug capable to work in India) which can be used with 230v/50hz. The place I bought it from told me that I could use this in India. But some people are telling me that India uses 240v. I looked online and found multiple websites which said that India uses 230v/50hz; while others said that India uses 240v. I'm really confused, can someone please tell me. Thank you so much.

Travel Tips
India operates on a 230v/50hz system, you will be fine, most all electrical devices and appliances will tolerate small differences in voltage and most electrical systems will have slight fluctuations in voltage anyhow. You may need to get adaptors for the plugs though, here's a chart that will show you what you may need: http://www.kropla.com/electric2.htm...
Others
It should be fine. For example, USA house voltage is 120 volts at 60 hz, but appliances are commonly rated for 110, 115 or 120.

No problemo. It's close enough for an iron.
Yes. In Europe the supply will usualy range up to 250v, a 10v increase in the Indian supply voltage will be fine.
Both 230 Volts, and 240 Volts with 50 or 60 cycles will work in India, as normal single phase supply is 230 to 240 volts..
yes just need a plug in point good luck.
Of course, it would work.
