This is a 17Th century monument made in white marble in India Agra. It was built by the Mughal King Shahjahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is a beautiful piece of architecture and is one of the 7 Wonders of the World. Both Mumtaz and Shahjahan are buried here. It is built in Italian Marble which glows on full moon nights. It has exquisite filigree work which was once filled with precious stones, these were lost to the British during their rule. People from far and wide come to see The Taj. It is basically a mausoleum but it stands as a symbol of Love. Shahjahan had started construction of another similar monument close to the Taj in Black Marble but he died before it could be completed. The unfinished structure stands close to the magnificent Taj.
