My husband and I are planning a trip to India around February 2008. We are 26 and 23. Is there any suggestion? |
Travel Info I'm looking for any help what so ever to make our trip the best. We are planning to visit India for about a month and don't know what to expect. Please help? Travel Tips Start from North to South, I personally believe there is not much places to visit in North except Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur, Agra(Taj Mahal), fatepur sikri, Kulu Manali and shimla in Himachal pradesh. Don't go to Kashmir as it is not safer and if you want to go then don't spend your night there. You will have lots of places to see in South (South is more tourist friendly than North), don't bother people stare at you it is quite normal here, always carry mineral water bottles as drinking water is not safe here. Must visit : Goa, Mahabalipuram, Kanchipuram, Kerala,Madurai, tajmahal, varanasi A travel agent may give you a correct travel plan. February is the season almost winter ends so everywhere it will be pleasant here. Just enjoy the trip as you would want to . Welcome to India and have a pleasant stay Others Hi. You can choose to Land either in Bombay or Delhi or Calcutta. If Bombay (very Dirty) you can easily connect with Goa and Kerela. I feel you should do this towards the end of your trip as you will need some R&R after your tryst with India. Delhi is the capital and offers a convinient link up with the Hill Stations. Good ones are Almora, Naini Taal and Shimla. Shimla is a must in March/April. You can also try Himachal Pradesh - Wildflower Hall (if money is not a major concern). From Calcutta - you can connect easily to Darjeeling. Try the Windamere Hotel - rather good and very British (Old School). Calcutta is the cultural capital of India and lots of Theatres, book stores and great food. You have the option of visiting Khajuraho (of Kamasutra fame), or Nalanda and Bodh Gaya (Buddhist Monastery and where the Buddha first sermonised). Apart from the beaches of Goa and the Backwaters of Kerela (you can rent a Hotel/Boat, you should try the nature reserves like Ranthambhore National Park, Corbett National Park. There are 27 such reserves. Advise is that given the size of the country, select any one zone and try and cover that portion. Impossible to see it all. Also depends on your mental make up and what you guys are interested in. Hope I have helped. Regards, Arijit |
