How can I have a good time in Ireland this July?

Travel Info
I will have a layover in Dublin on my way to Birmingham to visit relatives. I plan to stay about five days or so, but I will be by myself and don't know anyone. How can I ensure I have a good time without feeling lonely or out of place as a single female traveler?

Travel Tips
Okay, here's July stuff to do from the Frommer's Ireland 2005 book.
Battle of the Boyne Commemoration.
It's the marching season for the Irish Protestants. They are really into it. Mainly in the North, but I'm sure there are events in the Republic, too. Here's the contact Info.

Oxegen. At Punchtown Racecourse in County Kildare.
It's a music festival, mainly rock. http://www.ticketmaster.ie .

Galway Arts Festival and Races. It runs for 2 weeks, so you've a good chance of getting there in July. http://www.galwayartsfestival.ie...

The whole island is only about 150x300 miles. In 5 days you can see a few things. Staying in Dundalk, you would be equidistant to Dublin and Belfast and should cost a little less. They have plenty of B&B's as well. If time permits, the Giant's Causeway (north) is brilliant. Dublin offers many nice clubs (temple bar is a good area) To the east (about 150 miles) Galway is simply beautiful. Hire (rent) a car and have fun. Ireland and it's people are awsome.
Lived there for a while.
stay overnight in a castle or two - drink lots of guiness - eat lots of pub food - and chat with a lot of peeps in the pubs.
