Travel Info What part of ireland can u travel to without the use of a passport? Travel Tips Depends where you are from and where you are starting from. For example if you are already in England/Scotland/Wales (GB), you can jump on a ferry to Northern Ireland (part of UK) without a passport. Once in Northern Ireland, you can cross the border freely into Republic (walk, car, bus, train - whatever way you choose) - there is no formal border crossings anymore. You only really know you've crossed because the road signs have changed (Miles to Kilometres). Not exactly sure what legal position is though if you're non-EU citizen and the Garda铆 (police) stop you later on? Others From the US...nowhere. Even a cruise to there requires a passport. If you are an American, you will need a passport. If you're from the UK, you can travel anywhere as long as you have photo ID like a driving licence. If you're not from the UK, you need a passport Hi Jimbo it depends where you are from if you are classed as an alien you will need a passport to travel to both the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland , UK citizens do not require a passport to visit either. If you are an E.U. citizen an E.U. identity card will be accepted instead of a passport, but as most people in the E.U. carry Passports as a matter of course if flying into the country, if traveling by ship / ferry from France or Wales an id card will sufice. A E.111 for medical coverage is always a good idea to for visiting E.U. citizens as well. from cork to Dublin ha ha ha ha me being funny |
