Ireland - one of the best places to live in? |
Travel Info I'm thinking of moving to Ireland. How's life there, and is it hard to find a job? How tolerant are they of foreigners? I'm a middle eastern liberal man. Travel Tips galway/galway allthe way 20 per .cent foreigners but all welcome enjoy my friend Source(s): bor n/bred here Other Travel Tips easy to find a job if you have qualifications life is good here foreigners are tolerated very well Very very very easy to get a job (as long as your allowed to work here, EU Passport or Visa). life can be good and bad, great as the wages are very high and excellent, it's also not as expensive as people make it out to be. How tolerant are they to foreigners? Well that depends, look at the amount of Polish people in Ireland, and they get on great and have very few problems, I have never heard anyone say a negitave thing. But then with African immigrants I have heard alot of people say negitave things, so it depends. But all in all people are friendly and nice, the only annoying thing in Ireland is that the Pubs/Clubs are closed by 1am. lol Good Luck Yes it is certainly easy to get a job here, as long as you have fairly good qualifications. Wages are very high, but the cost of living is extremely high! Foreigners are tolerated fairly well, there are the few prejudice people..... but all in all, ireland is a lovely place, i've lived here all my life and i love it!! And recently two eastern europeans moved into one of the houses opposite us, and they have settled in very well, and are loving life in ireland. My advice to you is to try and live on a city subarb, or a town just outside a city, these are more rural and peaceful. Whatever you decide, i hope i works out ok !! As an American who's traveled to (and has close friends in) Ireland, I know that there's been a large influx of foreigners there in the last 10 years. The Irish people ARE largely liberal, and sympathetic to Arabs, especially the Palestinians. The price of housing is high, but employment is virtually 100% and wages are very good. Violent crime is extremely low in comparison to the U.S. Aside from housing, the cost of living isn't too bad. The people are wonderful and the country itself is amazingly beautiful, but you might miss that warm sunshine! |
