Is it better to buy a one-way, roundtrip, or multi-city ticket? |
Travel Info Hi Guys, I'm planning on backpacking my way through Central America. I want to fly into Cancun and out of Honduras. In your opinion. or knowledge, is it best to buy a one-way ticket or multi-city. I am unclear on Mexican customs....any body have any suggestions. Thanks in advance!! Travel Tips A round trip ticket is the usually the least expensive. That would be flying from your home to Cancun and back from Cancun. If you flew into Cancun and out of Honduras, that is called an open jaw trip. It would probably be second cheapest. If you flew from your home to Cancun, then Cancun to Honduras, then home that is called a circle trip. That would be your next best bet. One ways are going to be the most expensive. Of course all of this is a generalization. Sometimes there are some odd fares out there that price even better. I would suggest going on a web page like Orbitz and see what you get as far as fares go. Sounds like a great trip! Have a wonderful time. Source(s): Corporate travel agent Other Travel Tips This is a fact in Central America and anywhere else in the world....... A round trip is always cheaper, regardless if multi-city or not, as long as the passenger returns to the originating airport. You can buy a round trip arriving in one city and departing to your originating city from a second city. The segment from Cancun to you Honduran destination would be considered ground transportation. Mexican customs have nothing to do with this, their only matter is that your travel documents and passport are valid and in order. The airline you choose for this trip in the other hand may or may not want to sell you the ticket as a multi-city, check with them before you commit. Multi-city ticket so u can visit a lot of cities |
