Is rain gear necessary in Argentina/Bolivia/Peru in April?

Travel Info
Not doing any hiking really.

Travel Tips
Here in South America, if you are not in a desertic place, it rains all the year round..I mean, it is not as in other places in the world that for example in summer doesnt rain.
We have rain in all the seasons, but april is quite nice, bcoz autumn in our continent is very, very beautiful.
Take a little umbrella with u or a light raincoat.

Enjoy your time!!! Source(s): living in South America

Other Travel Tips
Just remember that on the other side of the equator, the seasons are different. So April down there is more like October here in the states. It will be a lot warmer there and showers can come out of nowhere.

I was in a neighborhood when a storm hit out of nowhere and all of a sudden we had water up to our ankles in the streets. They are a 3rd World Country to the US but they are beautiful countries to see.

Yes. Definitely. Buy a couple of the cheap rain ponchos from your local drugstore or supermarket (in the US). They work just fine and they fit neatly into small little pouches that do not take up space.

The rainiest month in Argentina is May-July but it may start a bit early in April so it's good to be prepared. In Peru, especially in the North and East Highlands, it rains a lot Oct.-April. It also rains heavily in Bolivia November-April, their summer, especially in the lowlands (hence the rain forests. Duh!)

When traveling I always bring along an umbrella. You never know what weather could arise. It is better to be prepared than to be seen as someone who doesn't plan well. It only took one down pour in Mexcio City to teach me this lesson.
