San Salvador has been crippled by war, poverty and earthquakes since the early 1980s and is just now finding itself. I would say San Salvador simply because more Salvadorians travel back and forth from El Salvador to the States than Costa Ricans. That's my opinion, but I also have a friend (American) that lives in El Salvador and she says that it's pretty modern and "Americanized", they even pay with dollars on a regular basis. san salvador san salvador and it has the best airport in central america im from costa rica i heard that san salvador is more modern.
