What are the best ways to get from San Pedro Sula to Roatan and back again?

Travel Tips
There are flights directly from SPS to Roatan on some of the smaller airlines like Islenia Airlines or possibly Taca, as well. Taca is probably the only airline with a website to purchase tickets ahead of time (www.taca.com). You can always just go to the airport once in Honduras and buy a ticket from the counter for the day you want to fly to Roatan.

You could also drive to La Ceiba and either fly from there or take a boat (very cheap!) over to the island. The flight, which I have personally done, from Ceiba is very quick. The boat, I've heard, is quite rough. If you have motion sickness issues the boat is probably not the best route.

One thing to remember, although not a big issue, is that you have to pay an airport tax if you fly. It's just a national tax so it's only about L.30 or so.
