Could you recomend some spanish phrase books to go to Costa Rica for me? |
Travel Info I'm going to Costa Rica more than a month and i might go to the neighbor contories too. My Spnish is zero. I really need a book which can help me to travel by myself. There is no spanish phrase book in my town Japer.So if you could recomend some books for me to order on the Web, i will really appriceate that. Travel Tips Hola, The one I use is Collin's "Language Survival Guide" They are a handy size for travelling and are full of interesting phrases that cover all sorts of tourist and travelling situations. Others I would enroll in a second language if your that worried, I don't find Costa Rica as having a language barrier....... gl Lonely Planet has a phrase book that has Costa Rican Spanish in it. Go to your local bookstore or Amazon.com, almost any travelers book will do but, honestly, you won't need much Spanish in Costa Rica. Both English and Spanish are taught from kindergarten on. On both of my visits I found most things to either be in English ( because it seems most of the country runs on tourism from the US) or had both languages. I spoke no Spanish and never had a problem. You'll love Costa Rica. It's more beautiful than Hawaii at a third of the price! I have Lonely Planet's "Latin American Spanish" phrasebook which has got me round much of South America, but I noticed today that they now have a specific Costa Rican Spanish phrasebook...I'm going to Costa Rica in August and was actually looking for a guidebook. Try to at least learn the basics before you go....that will be really appreciated. there is a very good book and Cd.
