What makes the porano(buenos aires) accent so distinctive? |
Travel Info What makes the porano(buenos aires) accent so distinctive? Travel Tips It is Porte帽o and any latin speaker can usually tell where another latin american speaker is from because all of their accents vary a little bit. But in Argentina more specifically in Buenos Aires they pronounce the double L differently. Most countries might say pollo(poyo) but in Buenos Aires they say it kinda of like Posho. It is kinda of like a softer Z sound. Some might say it's almost a J sound but not like the way a Mexican would say it. It's more like a shh kind of sound. Also in Argentina they speak in vos instead of tu. Vos como andas, cuantos a帽os tenes instead of tienes. Also there is a bit of Italian mixed in with Castellano since a lot of Italians migrated there. My father is from Buenos Aires and has been here for more than half of his life and most people can still tell he is from Argentina when he speaks Spanish. It's an amazing place I can't wait to go back!-You should go if you can afford the plane ticket!! Others The isolation.. Porano? What is porano? Porteno is a BA dialect and it is no different than Uruguay. Believe me, the mexican dialect is distinctive from Costa Rica which is distinctive from Venzuela and Colombia, which is distinctive from the Andean which is distinctive from the Rio de la Plata accent. I learned in BA and travel to Spain and the rest of Latin America, it is not that different, noticeable but not different. |
