Travel Info Anybody been to Machu Picchu? Travel Tips I was just there on Thanksgiving Day 2006. When I visit places that have a lot of hype behind them (the Roman Colosseum, the Louvre, the Sistine Chapel) I tend to get really disappointed afterward because they just don't live up to their reputations and there tends to be a billion tourists ruining my experience. However, Machu Picchu did NOT fail to impress me! It was just breathtaking and magical and amazing! I highly recommend visiting! We took the earliest bus (5:30 am, I think) from Aguas Calientes so we were with the first group of people on the mountain just after the sun came up. That was well worth the early start ... it was beautiful! Others I haven't yet. I was there May of 2006. It was fabulous. Beyond description. If you have the chance, GO! Been there twice its amazing.... me I have just returned from this wonderful land , so i have many things to tell you about. Amazing land and amazing people, i went to her wedding there, it was great! |
