What's the best way to ship a motorcycle to Northern end of South America. Planning a trip to Southern End. |

Travel Tips You will need to find a Freight-forwader in your area to book a cargo trip to either: Barranquilla or Cartagena de Indias If you are in a hurry, you may check how much will cost an air-cargo rate. Others I figure the "standard" way to do it is to rent a shipping container and get it down there. It is obviously too big to mail (but really too small for a whole shipping container). I seriously doubt that you can ship it by air without a lot of hassle, so shipping by boat is the only real option and that will take a couple weeks at least. I was recently interested in trying to get a car down to chile to drive north back to the USA, and I priced it at $2600 (from Atlanta Ga.). The company is www.overseascarshipper.com and is part of "ultimate logistics" they got me a price quote including insurance etc for the shipping of a car in about a day. I suspect that the price for a motorcycle will be about the same as you will be renting a "small" container even if it is nearly all empty, but the price for 4 or so mortorcycles will be about the same as one. I figure the only way to get a motorcycle down there is to ship to either Buenos Aires or Santiago. You still would then have a quite long ride to the end (unless you find local plane transport in Chile/Argentina, of which I know nothing). Why don't you just ride it down to South America? We (the countries inbetween here and there) do have roads that go all that way! And think how that trip would float against just going from one end of South America to the other! AWESOME! a realist!
