Travel Tips
Argentina.

No other country in Latin america can give so many options in one place.
Rain forest, beaches, ski resorts, deserts, glaciers, lakes, rivers, mountains. Very affordable, great food and beautiful people.
Buenos Aires is out of this world, just breathtaking, very european, many cultural activities, museum, theatres, 24 hours bookstores.etc. Very easy for europeans and americans to feel at home.

but, if you prefer something more "typical" of Latin america, go to Mexico or Peru.

So many countries are answering your questions, one I know
is the Dominican Republic.

Hello! I travel to Latin America for a month every year and have found no greater joy than being in Honduras. I hooked up with a great company that I could not have been more pleased with. I have attached the link to their website. We went to many towns in the mainland for the first 5 days, then into the jungle to live with a Pech tribe (no electricity, plumbing, water, etc) for a week. Note: living with that tribe wasn't exactly a 'tourist' thing, we lived in a hut in the jungle with them and lived as they lived, and they were so nice and accommodating to us, had to boat in, the region is called La Moskitia and you have to fly to where the boat launches because there are no roads. FYI - the boat is a dug out canoe, no tourist boat. We were the first white people that some of them (the younger ones anyway) had seen so it made for some interesting questions, and no they don't speak english. After getting back to the mainland and looking pretty ragged we went to the island of Roatan to get some scuba diving in. Roatan is big for an island and has mountains, beautiful beach, and friendly people. The country also has the Copan ruins which sadly I did not have time to visit though I hear they are absolutely breathtaking. The people in Honduras, I found, were very friendly and helpful, and genuinly liked teaching us about their country. They are very proud of their culture, and despite what people say, I found it to be quite safe. Use common sense (ie-don't walk around by yourself at night, but that should be the case anywhere in the world) and you should really love it! Tela and La Ceiba are both great towns, Tela is smaller and less developed which was nice, but La Ceiba offered much more and is a fair bit bigger. Wherever you chose to go, be open minded to their culture and they will love you for it, and be safe. You should have a great time!

I have been to many countries so when you make your decision feel free to email me and if I've been there I am more than willing to offer any advice or answer questions you may have. Cheers!
I think you should go to Colombia. Colombia has everything. I believe you will say, hell no, but news always talk bad about Colombia, the reality is other...Colombia is a great place to visit. Bogota is a place of culture. Museums and everything, plus, Bogota is becoming a really beautiful place for tourist. If you want salsa or something, then Cali it is...it's the world capital of salsa, it's also the young city and the sport city of Colombia. If you are looking for beaches, there is Santa Marta and Cartagena(Cartagena is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world). and Santa marta has the second most beautiful beach in the world. Barranquilla is very near of Cartagena and Santa Marta. Barranquilla is the hometown of Shakira. Medellin is a beautiful place too. known as the city of the neverending spring...places to go...parque del cafe in Armenia, Quindio..beautiful place to relax and know about the coffee and culture. La sierra nevada(around Santa Marta) it's the highest mountain close to the sea in the world, there is tayrona park(where the second most beautiful beach in the world is)...i will never end of writing, and i am tired now...i really hope you go to Colombia... i will know you will love it..., you can find more things about Colombia to visit...like san gil or near brazil, exotic paradise where the pink dolphins are. if you go there, enjoy, really, dont be afraid, Colombia is a great Country, if you go, you will notice it
