It is because of its location in reference to the equator. For example, the northern parts of Australia are actually colder than the souther parts because of its location. It can get kind of confusing. No its west, it is not south Yep, Its south of south america, because austrailia starts on about 11潞 or 12潞 Southern latitude and s. america starts on about the 12 or 13潞 Norther latitude. and as far as west is concerned, australia is simply to the west of south america, world map next to my computer You can go east and get there also NOT South, as Usuahia (Tierra del Fuego, Argentina) is the south-most city in the world!!! |
