Colombian spanish.. how long will it take to learn?? if..? |
Travel Info could someone help me plzzz .. does any one know how long it will take for me to learn spanish if i was to go to colombia and live with a family that speaks on spanish and if i go to spanish schoool there ~?? plzzzz could some help thank you Travel Tips There is no answer to your question because it relys entirely on YOUR ability to LEARN. Others This is a very complicated question but it would depend upon how hard you worked, how old you are and how good you are at learning Spanish. If you work VERY hard you can master basic Spanish in about 3 weeks. Peace Corps allows 6-8 weeks to get from nothing to a place where one could work professionally in Spanish. However, Peace Corps language training tends to be more intense than the typical language school. Personal experience. It's up to you, if you're gonna live with a family, that's good, even more if you're going to some school, i have several friends that have come from different countries, like Israel, US, Switzerland, Russia, one of them did what you're gonna do, and he learned like in 6 months, in Bogota, Colombia, now he studies business in a Colombian university, and he has traveled a lot in Colombia and other Spanish-speaker countries. I agree with everyone, it depends on how well you can comprehend the language and put it to use on a daily basis. I would say probably at least 6 months. THe younger you are, the easier it'll be. good luck! It's not the location, but your desire (and ability) to learn a foreign language. However, I will say that Colombians speak a traditional castellano (very nice accent). depedns on u, like 5 months |
