Bolivia or Ecuador....for a 7 day vacation, which would you choose and why? |
Travel Info Any suggestions on what to see in the two places? Travel Tips hi!i'd suggest bolivia.la paz,is the world's heighest capital and is situated on the andes. not been there but seen it on t.v.seems very scenic. also you have the heighest lake in the world-lake Titicaca Others Hi there, Bolivia is fantastic, no doubt about it, but for 7 days I'd be really tempted to choose Ecuador. In Bolivia it can take a little while to get anywhere - internal flights are often cancelled and the roads aren't quite as good as Ecuador. It's also a lot bigger! In a 7 day holiday in Ecuador you can see some amazing mountains, party in Quito, spend a couple of days in the rainforest and still grab a couple of days on the beach! http://www.therealecuador.co.uk... http://www.titicaca.net I would choose Ecuador due to its vast variety of eco systems. Such as: Andes: Ecuador has the Avenue of the Volcanos, Beautiful Andean cities such as the capital, Quito, and Cuenca. Indigenous culture abounds as well... you can visit Otavalo and explore the surrounding countryside. Rainforests: You can visit the rainforest areas by staying at eco lodges run by the indigenous tribes or you can simply hang out at Banos which is the jumping off point from the Andes into the rainforest. You can also try Mindo gardens which is situated in the cloud forest of Mindo, an excellent place to visit. Beach: Ecuador has great beaches. You can visit Salinas, Ecuadors version of South Beach. You can travel the "Ruta del Sol" heading North from Salinas and Guayaquil towards Atacames which is another tourist area on the coast. Don't forget about Montanita which is in between that route where you will find great surfing. That's just a small glimpse of what you can do. Ecuador has alot to offer for such a small country. I've been traveling there for many many years and I love it. Bolivia is another country that I would love to visit, but for 7 days I think you'd get more from Ecuador. Personal experience, I go every 3 - 4 months. I would choose Bolivia. I've never been to either one but I have friends who have been to Ecuador and they said it's dangerous. |
