Travel Tips Basically, Carnival is celebrated about the same time everywhere, with the largest celebrations in Mexico taking place in Veracruz and the Yucatan and Mazatlan - not too certain about any celebration that might be taking place in Ensenada, but can't imagine it would be as big as the main ones . The dates are 2/14/2007 - 2/21/2007 for Mayan Riviera (I'll be there form the 11th to the 18th, so I looked into it a bit too.) It is celebrated throughout the Roman Catholic world, and is most exuberant in Latin America. It is celebrated with costumes, parades, eating and dancing. The most spectacular carnival in Mexico is found in Mazatlan and Veracruz.
