I am moving to mexico with a passport, am i allowed to bring personal items? i will get residency when i get? |
Travel Info when i get there i will get residency... i need to know this... is there tax on what i bring..its household items,, clothes pictures, and personal items Travel Tips If you only have a few things in suitcases or your car there should be no import taxes. Just tell them you are going for a long vacation. At the border you will get a tourist VISA that is usually good for up to 6 months. Often times when you fly they only give you 30 or 90 days - so ask nicely for more. After you are settled in Mexico you can apply for an FM3 visa that will allow to to stay for a year before renewing each following year. There are a number of requirements to an FM3 - mainly proof of income. Here's a page on Mexican visas http://sparks-mexico.com/assorted/visas/... Source(s): http://sparks-mexico.com/ Other Travel Tips I am not sure what you will need, but I am jealous. My husband and I plan to move to Mexico one day. HI! well see I have family that comes and goes to Mexico, and when they go over there they usually take a car with them or something and they take a lot of stuff with them and from what I've heard they do charge for the stuff you take, it's not much but I think it all depends on what you are taking. But if you're moving over there I think there will be no problem with taking your personal stuff or anything other thing you wanna take! But they WILL charge you some money it might not be much, but be ready anyway! Good luck!!!! me and my trips to Mexico! :) Check how to open a bank account my girlfriend had problems with that when we were there, seems like you need a Mexican ID to do that. congratulations!!!!!! |
