Do trains service border to Mexico City? |
Travel Info I want to visit Mexico City. I hate flying, and I know it's a 2 or 3 day drive by car which would be a problem anyway since I don't speak spanish. Anyone know anything about trains to Mexico City? a website? Thanks. Travel Tips As a longtime resident in Mexico I can inform you that there exist NO PASSENGER TRAIN SERVICE at all in the entire country. The only train service is freight. I would strongly recommend you against travelling by car to Mexico City. As a US citizen you would be wide open to all kinds of extorsion. There exist long distance buses from various cities: Houston, San Antonio, Laredo, Chicago etc. They are more or less acceptable and punctual and are not expensive. Visit their website : www.autobusesamericanos.com or try google: autobuses americanos. Others Simple answer is no http://sparks-mexico.com/costalegre/... I agree with Albert about driving from the border to Mexico City, I live in San Luis potosi, and I haven't had any problems driving anywhere from here. I have driven to Mexico city a few times. Also to Leon, Rio Verde, San Miguel and other places with no problem. But driving in Mexico is easier once you are well into Mexico. Driving to and from the Border can be tricky, especially going north, the police and Military watch north bound traffic much closer. I advise taking a bus also. They are cheap and you will have few to no problems. |
