Can I get a FMT for 180 days for mexico, without a passport?

Travel Tips
If you are driving to Mexico, you do not need a passport, tho it is nice to have one. If you are flying you must have one. If you fly, you will get your 180 day tourist visa on the plane, and if you drive you will get it at the border. It costs about $20.00. So, if you are driving, yes you can get a tourist visa without a passport. Source(s): American living in Mexico.
