Travel Info Tips,Customs, cultures, money, ect!! thanks Travel Tips As someone posted here, it all depends on which part of Mexico you are choosing to live in, if you have kids and if you have a job. However, I would say that you choose a house near your working place and near good schools, since in Mexico distances are very long and that will be a huge difference from other places. When you go out to a place where you may eat, or someone is parking your car or someone doing something for you, it is used to tip 15% of the total consuming if you are in a city, 10% if you are elsewhere. Before you just decide to move here, come for 6 months with open eyes, and open mind... see if it's for you! There will be differences in language, currency, weights and measures and confusion about taxes, utilities, etc. Knowing the Spanish language is important but most communities where there are lots of Americans, English is spoken. Its a great place, people are good hearted. There is corruption at many levels but we Americans are used to that in our own country. Good luck. The newcomers club is helpful. Mexican society is very much divided by social class and education rather than color. If you have kids there are schools with an international academic program and foreign people working abroad always look for these schools, so it麓s a good place to meet people also. You will find Mexicans living in Mexico are very different from Mexicans in the US. It麓s difficult to describe. Reading The Labyrinth of Solitude by Octavio Paz would explain. Be prepare to receive a kiss, only one, on the chick when saying hello. |
