Does anyone know if the Mexico daylight savings time will change for 2007? |
Travel Info I know that this year the US in changing the daylight savings time to the middle of March..does anyone know if this also appplies to MEXICO. Travel Tips This year, the change to Daylight Savings Time, is a real mess. Mexico does NOT change when the United States changes! I have copied some information from a website and also pasted the link below. Since 1966, most of the United States has observed Daylight Saving Time from at 2:00 a.m. on the first Sunday of April to 2:00 a.m. on the last Sunday of October. Beginning in 2007, most of the U.S. will begin Daylight Saving Time at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and revert to standard time on the first Sunday in November. In the U.S., each time zone switches at a different time. Mexico, with the exception of Sonora, has observed Daylight Saving Time since 1996, adhering to the same schedule as the U.S. Although the U.S. is slated to change Daylight Saving Time dates in 2007, Mexico will maintain the original schedule of starting the first Sunday in April and ending the last Sunday in October. So, this spring AND this coming autumn, Mexico and the United States will change their clocks on different dates. This has played havoc with air schedules and made travel for Spring Breakers a nightmare in some cases. Source(s): http://webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/in... Other Travel Tips They do it the same as the US since 1996. 2 a.m. on March 11 Everywhere, except for that state of Sonora, they don't observe the change. |
