What's the best vacation spot in Mexico?

Travel Tips
I've traveled (driven) through most of Mexico and I just returned last march froma drive to Panama and I have to say that there are so many great places. If your looking for big cities then Mexico city will fit the bill. Me I like it a little more back wood and rural and I'd pick Las Lahas, Nexpa or Puerto Escondido. All three are sick. We wrote up a blog about our trip on http://extremeroadtrip.com so you can try to get an idea of the different cities and see a couple of pictures.

CANCUUN
MY FRIENDS LOVED IT THEY'VE BEEN THERE 3 TIMES
I like Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan. It is clean and organized with about 5 security forces to keep tourists safe. You can go there on any kind of budget and still have a super time. The have one of those giant Mercados, and you can shop there for all of the great Mexican stuff along with import items. There is so much outdoor entertainment along the water. Best of luck to you!!
That`s depending of what do you expect or like?.. ...but let`s try to outlook it....if you like beaches and nigth life parties...no doubt--Cancun, Acapulco, Cozumel, if you are in a couple plan with your mate...go to Ixtapa, Cozumel, los cabos,....if you and/or your couple like cultural life ..or something more bohemian...go to Guanajuato, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi,....if you like colonial history go to Merida, Guanajuato, Puebla, if you like ecotourism go to isolated sites like Isla Jaina, Cascadas de AguaAzul, isla Navidad, if you like ruins Chichen itza, Uxmal, Palenque....and there are a lot ...that if I continue ..I wouldn`t finish...of course ...behave yourself ..and do not think that because it is not a so called First world country you can come and ask for weed and paint the town without having to face the authority eh?
I love Cancun!!

=)
Really hard question to answer. Depends on what you like. We have the best beach resorts on the planet, on both Pacific and Atlantic coasts. Snow capped mountains? Got them too. Colonial cities, plenty. Best musicals (after Broadway) here in Mexico City. Huge malls like in every US city (probably not as much variety, but still some good stuff). IMO, what really beats all of the above is the food. Different everywhere you go.

Yeah, well, what else can I say..... yeah, I'm a native mexican.
