Should I move to mexico?

Travel Info
My wife recieves a check for about $3000 a month for life, she wants to move to Mexico. I was born and raised in Texas, but of Mexican parents, fluent in spanish and have been to mexico 3 or 4 times, I love it, but I feel that it's a big step to move to another country even though I am mexican, any opinions, suggestions?

Travel Tips
Gosh, you only live once. It isn't such a big step to go back to your parents' country. You'll love it, have an open mind.
I did it, and I'm from England. Didn't speak a word of Spanish but the Mx.s are so helpful with the language, and so polite. I love it here. You should be able to live well on $3000 a month and save some. Do it, you won't regret it, and if you do, so...you return to the States.

I would go------sick of the left wing politics here
That's really exciting. I say go for it as long as its both what you want!
Well, such a personal decision is up to you. But you are right, it's a big move. With $3000/month that is still much more money than most retirees get (some live on $800/month). Moving to a foreign country is a big step and though you are of Mexican descent, Mexicans (in Mexico) will call you American. If you want to live in Mexico, maybe you can live close to the US so you can come back if you need to. I know that many Mexicans near the US border come to the US for medical care so they must know something.
Shoot, for that kind of money you could live like kings and queens!
I'd go in a heartbeat! What do you have to lose? You can always come back if you change your mind.
Go for it. $3,000 will go a lot further in Mexico than in the US. Vaya con Dios!
Hi, I am an American woman, retired and living in Mexico. I think retiring to Mexico is a great idea. The people are wonderful and there are many great places to live. I prefer a small town close to a big city for conviences...and definetly an area with only a few gringos. Non-touristy areas have much lower prices for everything. $3000.00 a month is a very generous income to live on. If you are serious about coming and would like to email me I would be glad to share what I have learned about getting ready to come, visas, bringing a car, banking , etc. I live near Xalapa in the state of Veracruz...a great place.
